Photographs from the magic of light-sensitive silver

In a world awash in instantly disposable digital images, and with so-called artificial intelligence in the spotlight, many find themselves seeking images they can trust. Images standing apart from electronic manipulation. Images that speak to enduring value with physical presence.

The beauty of the finely crafted black-and-white silver print, made directly from an image captured on film, has in recent years been drawing a growing following of new photographers, and persuading former film photographers to return. Listen and you will hear a refrain among them about why they choose this time-tested medium: “It makes me slow down and think. The images have more value to me.”

Welcome to the art and craft of traditional photography.
